Ryanair từ bỏ bài kiểm tra tiếng Afrikaans gây tranh cãi cho du khách Nam Phi

(CNN) - Ryanair đã xác nhận rằng người Nam Phi sẽ không còn phải làm bài kiểm tra tiếng Afrikaans để chứng minh quốc tịch của họ trước khi lên chuyến bay đến Vương quốc Anh.
Hãng hàng không giá rẻ đang từ bỏ yêu cầu gây tranh cãi sau khi nhận được phản ứng dữ dội từ người dân Nam Phi, với một số cáo buộc Ryanair phân biệt chủng tộc.
Sự quay đầu rõ ràng đã được Michael O'Leary, giám đốc điều hành của Ryanair, công bố trong một cuộc họp báo ở Brussels hôm thứ Ba.
Ông nói với các phóng viên khi được hỏi về bài kiểm tra này là do sự gia tăng hộ chiếu Nam Phi giả mạo. "Vì vậy, chúng tôi đã kết thúc bài kiểm tra tiếng Afrikaans, bởi vì nó không có ý nghĩa gì cả."
